Codependency

About

Codependency is a disease, but one that is often unrecognized by the suffering individual until it is pointed out, either by friends or professionals. Codependency is characterized by extreme sacrifices for the person they are codependent on, inability to refuse their demands, making excuses for them, constant worry about what others think, silence with the objective of peacemaking, feelings of anxiety, inadequacy, and shame as well as feeling trapped inside their relationship.

Treatment

Many individuals who are struggling with a substance disorder are codependent on their enablers, whose patterns (such as rescuing them, bailing them out, making excuses for their behavior, and constantly trying to fix their problems). Divine House offers detoxification, residential treatment, and outpatient programs to treat bipolar disorder and help patients regulate their disorder so as to better function in daily life.
